Mercury free hearing aid batteries in the spotlight

Innovations in hearing aid technology will be showcased at Europe’s biggest hearing event which is set to take place in Germany in October.

Hearing aid battery manufacturer, Rayovac, will be one of the ‘not to be missed’ exhibitors at this year’s European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians Congress in Hannover (October 13-15).

The leading battery brand will be featuring exciting, leading edge advances centering on mercury free technology.

Rayovac will profile the latest developments in battery technology – with the green message very much to the forefront. Following the launch of its first Mercury Free battery last year, it will highlight further progress being made in the development of mercury free batteries.

Rayovac’s Vince Armitage explains: “We’ll be focussing very much on advancements to our Mercury Free battery. The mercury free question is a crucial one for the industry and consumers who want their purchases not to impact on the environment.

“Mercury Free fits this green need and is the future for hearing aid batteries. Eliminating mercury could potentially save over 6,000kg of mercury annually - the equivalent of 15,000 footballs.”

Other announcements will include an exciting extension of Rayovac’s popular Proline support programme for customers.

For the third successive year, the congress will also be the finale to Rayovac’s Audiologist of the Year competition with the 2010 European winner crowned on the last night of the event.
